Child’s Farm Ambassador…

May 7th, 2015

Some of you may already know that I am an ambassador for the wonderful children and babies toiletry products, Child’s Farm.

Some of you may have already had some samples from me.

I can’t tell you how wonderfully fantastic these products are!
My love affair for them started in October 2014 when I saw the TV advert and decided to try the Hair Detangler for my 5year old daughter’s curly, out of control, hair!!
She used to cry every morning when I brushed her hair however after using the hair detangler the tears stopped! She didn’t even realise that I was actually brushing her hair at one point!

I then exhibited at the Bluewater Baby and Toddler show and met Joanna Jenson, founder of Childs Farm who were also exhibiting there! I told her how amazing the hair detangler was and browsed the other products that they had on offer. Joanna and I talked about Excema as this is what contributed to her starting Childs Farm.
I explained that my 12month old son had an exzema patch behind his knee which had been there since he was around 6 weeks old! It really bothered him! We had tried everything, from the doctor to over the counter products! Nothing shifted it, or really touched it! Slowly more dry patches appeared on my son’s body. Joanna suggested trying the Body Wash and the Hand/Body Lotion .

So that night, at bath time, we did exactly that!

The next morning as I got my son changed, the exzema patch had disappeared!! Completely gone! I was amazed! For almost 12 months we had tried various lotions and potions without success and after one night of using Childs Farm products, it had GONE!!

The next morning at the baby show, I could’ve kissed Joanna! I told her what had happened and immediately bought all the products available…..and have used them ever since! My son has had no exzema, no dry skin and my daughter’s hair is now manageable, she doesn’t cry anymore! They also smell delicious which is a big bonus, especially for my two children!

Childs Farm products are simply amazing!!

A Royal Baby…

May 5th, 2015

So, on Saturday, May 2nd 2015, The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a new Royal Baby – Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. The new little princess will be 4th in line to the throne!

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, looked simply amazing as she stepped out of the hospital with Prince William and their new addition just 10 hours later!
10 hours!! Hair and make up perfect, wearing a white and yellow dress and heels. Heels!!
10 hours!! Wowser!!

Such great news! Everyone is so excited with the arrival of a new baby.
I always get excited when a couple bring their new baby to me to have newborn photographs taken by me.  I love the baby cuddles of course but I especially love to capture them whilst they are so little, they are only little for a short while!

So, it was a pleasure when baby Felicity came to see me last week with her mummy, sister and grandparents.

Here she is, our own little Princess Felicity – just 17days new.

A marriage proposal…

May 1st, 2015

I’m so excited to share a beautiful moment that I photographed last night in my studio.

Lauren had booked in two weeks ago for a baby bump photo shoot in my studio. What she didn’t know was that her boyfriend had called me the day before to tell me that he was planning to propose whilst at my studio and asked if I would capture the moment!!

Well, of course I would!! I was so excited and felt privileged to have been asked!

So, Lauren and Andrew arrived. We did some baby bump photographs, which are great, and then I gave Andrew a look and said the magic words that we’d arranged.
It was time. I started shaking but just kept shooting.

Andrew dropped onto one knee, asked the question and a very excited Lauren was speechless!! But, of course she said yes!

It was a wonderful moment and I feel honoured that they shared it with me and that I’ve captured that moment for them, forever.

A Cooling Castle Barn wedding…

March 30th, 2015

Back in June last year I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the wedding of Rebecca and Steve at the fabulous and ever popular Kent wedding venue, Cooling Castle Barn (also referred to as Cooling Castle).

I met Rebecca almost 2 years previously at the Cooling Castle open day in which I attended as a preferred supplier. We then met up a little while later at my house for a consultation. It was a crazy evening if I remember as I never had my studio at that point and my daughter was being mischievous! I’m surprised that Rebecca actually booked me based on the events of that night.

Anyway, she did and fast forward to August 2013, I was 8months pregnant and we met up in Greenwich to shoot their pre-wedding photographs. Steve was extremely nervous however we captured some fantastic portraits in the late summer sun!
10 months later the big day had finally come!!

I met up with Steve and his groomsmen at Steve and Rebecca’s house, where I captured some natural preparation shots and I met their baby – Bailey the Boxer dog! She was gorgeous and very photogenic!!
As Steve got himself ready, I quietly photographed him and some little details….which I love to capture. Usually it’s the little details that you forget!.

I left Steve and went on to meet Rebecca at the hotel where she was getting ready with the mums and bridesmaids. A fun, girly morning.
As we left, Bec’s dad met us at the hotel and saw his little girl for the first time as she set off with him to her wedding….an emotional moment, once again, captured forever.

We made our way to Cooling Castle, I put my foot down and got there in plenty of time to ensure I captured venue shots, the groom and guests arriving. I waited for the bride to arrive and it was all systems go, off she went to get married.

It was an emotional ceremony from the moment Bec walked down the aisle to meet an emotional Steve.
After the ceremony, we made our way out the front to start the photographs before heading back to see the guests who were being entertained by the fantastic magician/illusionist David Penn.
I love capturing reactions and David had plenty of great reactions during his many performances.

Once everybody had enjoyed their delicious wedding breakfast it was time for speeches.

After this we managed to capture a few more photographs of the bride and groom before it was time for them to get the evening dancing started with their first dance.

It was a fantastic wedding which I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved working with Rebecca, Steve and their wedding guests who were all so lovely.

I wish them all the best for their future together.

Family portrait photographer in Beckenham…

March 25th, 2015

..Back in May I was commisioned after a client referral to do a family portrait session with this lovely family in their beautiful home in Beckenham.

The idea was to capture natural, beautiful photographs of the family together and the children individually.

When I photograph families I leave the camera aside for a little while whilst I ‘observe’ how they interact and play together. These two gorgeous children played really well on their own and together had lots of giggles.

Here are my favourites….

Engagement shoot in Bromley…

March 6th, 2015

These two lovelies get married this weekend….really looking forward to go back to Buxted Park Hotel again!!

We had a pre-wedding shoot a couple of weeks ago, on Valentine’s day – hence the balloon.

I find pre-wedding shoots are a nice way to chat over the wedding with my couples and just have a bit of a giggle. I can see how you are as a couple and you can see how I operate before the wedding day.

Here are a few of my favourites.

Yvonne and Fiona got married at Brandshatch Place Hotel…

July 24th, 2014

….at Brandshatch Place Hotel and Spa – one of the Kent wedding venue’s where I am lucky enough to be a recommended supplier.

The day started off with me arriving an hour or so before the ceremony to capture guests arrivals. The brides didn’t want preparation shots in their room so I met them as they made their way down into Terrace Suite where they were to become Mrs & Mrs.

The ceremony was lovely, the brides were escorted down the aisle by each of their fathers. With a huge cheer and round of applause they were pronounced ‘married’ and the celebrations began.

They greeted their guests wih a glass of bubbles and shortly afterwards we started with the group photographs.
Once the groups were done we had a few minutes on our own and went for a llittle wander to take bridal photographs before dinner.

The speeches were hilarious and highly embarrasing for poor Fiona who was slowly sinking into her seat.

After the speeches, just as the sun was setting I took the brides outside again for a few minutes to take some more photographs with the low sunshine – which was very different to the light earlier in the day.

Shortly afterwards it was time for the well choreographed first dance before guests piled onto the dancefloor to enjoy the evening.

I left them to it although could’ve quite happily have stayed to throw a few shapes on the dancefloor, the band were great!!

Here are a few of my favourites from Yvonne and Fiona’s wedding day….
